Our Cedar
Fence Details:
- All po
sts are set in concrete, at a minimum depth of 32”.
This depth is necessary to anchor the footing and prevent it from
heaving up from the pressure of the frost.
- We trowel finish the concrete around the base of
the post in order to shed water away. By keeping the post dry,
rotting is hindered and the life of the fence is
prolonged.
- We only use western red cedar posts and boards.
Treated products have a different color than cedar and have a
higher tendency to warp and split because they can dry at
different rates due to inconsistent chemical saturation.
- We only use premium grade cedar boards
for all our wood fences. Boards with splits or loose knots are
rejected.
- In the construction of the fence, we toenail the
2x4 framework between the posts as opposed to face nailing the
frame to the front of the posts. The toenailing method of
construction gives the fence a cleaner, more finished,
look.
- The nails that we use are hot dipped galvanized
to prevent rusting, and ring-shanked to provide additional holding
strength.
- There are a variety of styles to choose from. In
addition, we have the flexibility to customize a wood fence to a
design of your own. Click the pictures below to
